The Agland Assessment Implementation and Oversight Advisory Task Force of the South Dakota Legislature held their final meeting of the interim in Pierre Monday.
Task Force member, Senator Jason Frerichs of Wilmot says they agreed on one bill to pass on to the 2017 session…..

The task force has been keeping an eye on the transition from a property tax system based on land sales to one based on productivity.
Frerichs says they need more information before recommending any changes…..

Frerichs says they are still hearing about issues in grassland versus cropland assessments…..

Frerichs says with a rolling average, property taxes are rising at a time when commodity prices are falling. He says that should even out in the next few years.
