State development officials are ready to help with value added ag facilities, but will let local governments take the lead.
Scott Stern, the Commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, says any livestock production decisions are up to the people that live in those areas……

Stern says while they see value added agriculture as a prime development sector, there is a not a push from above to add those facilities……

Stern says they are also pushing to find more workers for development all over the state……

Stern says they are seeing strong business interest in the state despite the low unemployment rate.
