Members of the legislatures Planning Committee heard some proposals yesterday (Monday) that could raise teacher pay.

He was part of a group that includes the School Administrators of South Dakota, and the South Dakota United School Association.

Pogany said their proposal would create the Teacher Salary Enhancement Fund…

.

Pogany says districts would also have to use some of their money for increasing teacher pay……

Pogany says to fund the bill they have proposed increasing the sales tax by 1 cent in June, July and August…..

They estimate it would raise at least $4,000 per teacher.
