School districts across South Dakota are again watching the actions of the legislature as the 2015 session begins.

Yankton School Superintendent Dr Wayne Kindle says they are concerned with bills dealing with one particular school fund…

 

At least one bill would cap the tax levy that could be used for capital outlay funds.

Kindle says they are also waiting to see what lawmakers do with state aid to education…

 

Governor Dennis Daugaard has proposed a two percent increase in the state aid formula.

Kindle says they want the legislature to have a discussion about the shortage of qualified teachers…
