Several school boards in south east South Dakota are having discussions about possible cooperative efforts that could include athletics and academics.
Dr. Joe Gertsema is the interim Superintendent at the Marion School District, and says the talks began after they went through a split.
Gertsema says the Marion and Freeman Public school boards held a joint public meeting last week.
Gertsema says his school board wants some long term agreements.
Gertsema says the Marion board has also had discussions with Parker, and will meet with officials from Freeman Academy.
