SB 55 Task Force Starts Study of SD Public Universities

A task force set up by this year’s legislature to study operations of South Dakota’s public universities held its first meeting this week in Rapid City.

The SB 55 Task Force is chaired by Regents Executive Director Brian Maher..

Former USD President Jim Abbott spoke to the task force about its goals…

Maher says there will be fluid boundaries between their subcommittees..

Maher set out the subcommittees….

A tentative agenda calls for five meetings at campus locations across the state over the next year. The final report is due to the legislature by November 15th of 2021.
