The Yankton City Commission will vote on a contract for an underwater inspection of the Meridian Bridge at their meeting Monday night.

Mayor Stephanie Moser says its part of a larger discussion about maintaining the bridge long term…..

Moser says they don’t have any money in place to make any large updates or repairs to the bridge….

Moser says they have been having talks about finding a revenue source dedicated to the bridge….

The double deck bridge was built in 1924 and turned over to the city for use as a walking, biking bridge in 2012.
