Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and there will be a number of locations around Nebraska where residents can drop off unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications. Joan McVoy is a registered nurse and spokesperson for the Nebraska Regional Poison Center and says there are a number of sites that take back drugs all year round.

McVoy says medications can become dangerous or ineffective over time and can be abused by someone looking through your medicine cabinet.

Call 1-800-222-1222 and poison center nurses will be able to answer your questions and help you quickly locate the nearest take back site.
