The Santee Sioux Tribe opened a nursing home in Flandreau earlier this year.
The State-Tribal Relations Committee of the South Dakota legislature met at Royal River Casino in Flandreau and nursing home administrator Kassandra Doty (dough-tee) told the committee they got their license in February….

Doty says they passed their initial audit…

Doty says the need for their care is growing….

Doty told the committee that finding qualified staff is always a challenge.
The nursing home has room for forty two patients and is open to tribal and non tribal members.
