Sandhill Cranes in Nebraska Peak Time Approaching

The number of Sandhill cranes along the Central Platte River in Nebraska typically peak about right now.  Andrew Caven is the lead biologist at Crane Trust and says the cranes arrived a bit earlier this year but they are also sticking around a bit longer as well.

Caven says it is very hard to get a head count but if you come now you won’t have a problem finding cranes to view.

Some of the best viewing is along the Platte River at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area.
