A northeast Nebraska company that makes timber frame barns and houses is being recognized as one of 52 key American economic success stories by Google. David Bird is general manager of Wayne-based Sand Creek Post and Beam, which has built structures for livestock, families, weddings and other events in 48 U-S states, across Canada and even in Australia.

Bird says it’s a big honor to have been chosen by the search engine giant as one of the country’s best examples of a company that’s expanded significantly through its use of the internet.

Bird says 95-percent of their customers buy their products without ever having seen one of their barns or homes in person.
