Several education groups in South Dakota have proposed a part year sales tax increase with the money being funneled to raises for teachers.
The Associated Schools Boards and the School Administrator’s group would like to see the sales tax hiked in the summer, which could raise about forty million dollars.
Senator Bill Van Gerpen of Tyndall, a member of the Appropriations Committee, says if a bill like that is introduced, he expects it to get quite a bit of debate…
