Sales Tax Exemptions Could be in Play in the 2018 SD Legislature

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard has proposed a very tight, 2019 budget, with no raises for state employees or schools.
He says, despite the grim outlook, state revenues could improve before the final budget is passed in March……

Some legislators are talking of another look at goods and services that are exempt from state sales tax. Daugaard says those are difficult changes…..

Daugaard says a majority of exemptions are related to agriculture…..

Legislators return to Pierre next week for the start of the 2018 session.
