Russia Ukraine Conflict Hurting U.S. Agriculture Near Term

The Russia-Ukraine conflict is already harming U.S. farmers and ranchers according to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.  He says it has been hitting them in the pocketbook with rising energy and other input prices.

And then there’s the threat of U.S., EU and UK sanctions against Russia…

Though, Grassley points out the Carter embargo eventually hurt U.S. producers who lost overseas business.

Ukraine production of billions of bushels of wheat and corn could also shut down, providing added U.S. export sales to China and others.
