Rural Airports in Nebraska Can Now Apply for Federal Funding

Rural airports in Nebraska will be able to apply for federal funding now that Congress has approved a rider to the FAA reauthorization sponsored by Congressman Adrian Smith.
Smith says his measure will allow airports to apply for federal money, even if their annual boarding’s fall below the 10-Thousand threshold.

Senator Deb Fischer says it is in the national interest to maintain transportation in remote parts of the country.

Airports which qualified for federal funding prior to the regulation change in 2012 will still be able to qualify.
