The Rules Review Committee of the South Dakota legislature meets today in Pierre. The committee works through the rules needed to implement state laws and policies.

One rule in front of the committee would raise gate, parking, camping and vehicle fees at the State Fair. Representative Jean Hunhoff says it’s partly because of the fair’s recent success…

Hunhoff says the Fair is looking for a twenty to forty thousand dollar increase in those fees.

Another rule would lower the speed limit on Interstate 90 from Rapid City west during the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Hunhoff says there are several options involved…

Hunhoff says most agencies have learned to come to the committee with needed rate and fee changes instead of waiting for a number of years…

The committee will also hear about the new rules allowing producers to sell raw milk to the public.
