Work on the new farm bill has been held up in the House due to differences with the SNAP program. However, the Senate Ag Committee is working on draft legislation. Senate Ag Committee Chair Pat Roberts of Kansas says he has been collaborating with the committee’s ranking member, Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Roberts says he and Senator Stabenow are finding concensus on several big issues.

Roberts was in Topeka on Friday meeting with state officials and getting updated on the status of the drought.
