The Risk Management Agency of USDA has extended the deadline for premium and administrative fee payments on crop insurance. Yankton Crop Insurance Agent Dave Hubbs says this gives farmers more time to get those payments in without picking up interest fees moving the deadline from October 1 to December 1 of 2020.

He says RMA extended the deadline because of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The weather this year isn’t as wet as it was last year and Hubbs is hopeful farmers will be able to get their crops harvested on a timely basis.

RMA advises farmers to contact their crop insurance agents on any questions they have about their policies and requirements.
