There will be few new bartenders in downtown Yankton this evening. RiverWalk is backed by a group of young adults that began in 2010 to take responsibility for the sculptures that decorate the downtown streets. Each year, new sculptures are installed for the public to enjoy through fundraisers. This week, RiverWalk will team up with Czeckers to raise dollars for the project and provide a sneak peak at this year’s new sculptures, according to committee member Katie Hunhoff.

Hunhoff says the money will be used to purchase a new granite pedestal and to fund the 15 new sculptures. She says this year, they are dedicating one of the art pieces through a contest.

The fundraiser will take place at Czeckers sports bar from 5:30 to 8:00 pm with free appetizers for RiverWalk supporters.
A map and brochure of Yankton’s sculpture walk can be found at local businesses or by downloading the Yankton RiverWalk app to your cellphone.
