The newly established Friends of the Missouri National Recreational River (FOMNRR) is extending an open invitation to the public to attend their kickoff event Monday, August 17 at Riverside Park in Yankton.

Paul Lepisto, regional conservation coordinator for the Izaak Walton League, says the group is focused on the last stretches of the wild Missouri River…

 

Lepisto says they want people to learn more about the river and nearby areas…

 

Lepisto says the group will also be raising money to help with activities in and near the river…

 

The group along with the National Park Service will host an open house from 2:30 -7:00 p.m. on August 17th at Riverside Park, with informative presentations to be given at 3 and 6 p.m.
