LB 67, Nebraska’s Adopt the Fair Repair Act, is dead for this session but backers say they’ll bring it back next year. Nebraska Farmers Union is one of the farm groups that supported the bill. President John Hansen says the issue stems around farmers owning their equipment, but not being allowed to repair its technology.

He says this is the second session they’ve attempted to get the measure passed and even though it failed, support for the bill has been growing.

Hansen says opponents to the right to repair legislation have used scare tactics to prevent passage.

The Adopt the Fair Repair Act was carried by Senator Lydia Brasch.
