Ricketts Tours Prison Damage

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts viewed the damage at Tecumseh state prison, left in wake of the deadly riot more than a week ago.

Ricketts says new Corrections Director Scott Frakes is reviewing staffing levels and training at all state prisons to determine their effectiveness and safety.
Warden Brian Gage says he appreciates that Governor Ricketts and State Corrections Director Scott Frakes visited the damaged facility. . .


Clean-up continues at Housing Unit 2, taken over temporarily by inmates, and heavily damaged.
Two inmates were killed. Four were injured. Two prison guards were injured as well.
Gage says nine staff members have left the prison in wake of the riot.
