Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts is leading a trade mission to Vietnam this week. State Pork Producers Association Executive Director Al Juhnke is with the group. He says Vietnam represents a great market opportunity for U.S. and Nebraska pork.
He says due to a local connection, they’ve been able to work with Dan Kritenbrink, the U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam and have set up several high-level meetings.
Juhnke says they have some issues to work out in order to forge a good bilateral deal with Vietnam.
The trade mission includes 28 Nebraskans who will be attending meetings on Thursday and Friday. Part of the group returns to Nebraska on Sunday, while the rest head to Japan for a conference.
