The Yankton County Historical Society created some history of their own with the ribbon cutting on the Mead Cultural Education Center.
The historic building, on the grounds of the old Human Services Center, will be the new home of the Dakota Territorial Museum and exhibits.
Historical Society Executive Director Crystal Nelson says it took along time to get to this point..
Nelson says they will have exhibits on display while restoration continues on the building….
Nelson says there will be more added inside and outside the building…
The public grand opening of the building will be this Saturday.
