The final rule on the 2014 volumetric requirements for the Renewable Fuels Standard has gone to the Office of Management and Budget, but there’s uncertainty on the timetable for release. EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks says he doesn’t have any predictions.
Iowa Congressman Steve King says he’s not sure if the rule will be released by the end of the year, but says the White House hasn’t applied any law or logic to the rule so far.
He says with a projected record corn crop on tap there is no statutory reason for EPA to make any changes to the RFS.
