The Renewable Fuels Association has sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry urging him to promote the success of the Renewable Fuel Standard at the upcoming climate talks in Paris. RFA Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says greenhouse gases have seen large reductions due to the RFS.

Cooper says it’s ironic that the EPA will be releasing the renewable volume levels on the RFS the same time the climate talks start on November 30. He says the President and Secretary of State need to practice what they preach as it relates to climate change and the RFS.

He says it’s not possible to address climate change without a strong renewable fuel standard.
The EPA has already proposed a lower level of RFS volumes than what the law calls for.
