The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been seeking input on their Agriculture Innovation Agenda they announced a few months ago. Renewable Fuel Association’s President and CEO Geoff Cooper says the Ag Department’s proposed a lofty blend rate goal for ethanol in the future and asked his group for feedback as to how to attain that goal.

He says one step that needs to be taken is to increase corn ethanol’s productivity on the farm and at the ethanol plants.

Cooper says RFA also wants the USDA to focus on building out the infrastructure program for ethanol.

Cooper says their other recommendations to the USDA and EPA included providing Reid Vapor Pressure parity for all ethanol blends, revising EPA’s outdate lifecycle greenhouse gas analysis of corn ethanol, and eliminating unnecessary registration certification barriers to cellulosic ethanol production from corn kernel fiber.
