Most U.S. Automakers explicitly approve the use of E 15 in 2016 model year warranty statements and owner’s manuals. That’s according to an analysis done by the Renewable Fuels Association.  Senior Vice President Geoff (jeff) Cooper says auto manufacturers approve E 15 use in more than 70 percent of new vehicles.

He says that approval level is 10 percent higher over last year.

Cooper says while Large oil companies and AAA falsely claim E 15 voids auto warranties, thorough testing by the EPA and the Department of Energy shows E 15 fuel use is perfectly safe in autos 2001 and newer.

Cooper says a majority of vehicles on the road today, about 85 percent are 2001 or newer. He says most of the vehicles older than that  are already out of warranty anyway.
