RFA Says Ethanol Industry Breaks Blend Wall

Analysis done by the Energy Information Administration shows that gasoline consumed in the United States in 2016 contained more than 10 percent ethanol on average for the first time ever. Renewable Fuels Association Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says the average ethanol content of gasoline was 10.04 percent, which shatters the blend wall myth.

He says the EIA data shows the U.S. ethanol industry can easily meet the requirements of the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Cooper says RFA will share this EIA information with EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt as the agency works on the RFS volume obligations for 2018.

Cooper says they’ll also share the EIA data with Congress in order to prevent any push back against the RFS.
