The Renewable Fuels Association has released a new analysis of the more than ten years old Renewable Fuel Standard. The release comes on the heels of recent attacks in Congress to drastically modify or repeal the RFS. RFA Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says the RFS has done what it was intended to do which is providing certainty for the biofuels industry.
He says the RFS has also stimulated the nation’s agricultural economy.
Cooper says their study shows renewable fuels have not led to higher food prices as critics of the RFS have charged.
The analysis titled RFS Impacts by the Numbers comes as the EPA is expected to soon issue its proposed 2018 renewable volume obligations under the RFS.
