The Trump administration announced today it’s taking action to begin reallocating lost biofuel volumes under the Renewable Fuel Standard. The President’s plan accounts for the lost gallons based on a three year average of all exempted gallons beginning with 2020 biofuel targets. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Geoff Cooper says it’s a crucial step forward to accomplish what’s badly needed.

He says the President’s action follows what the RFS intends.

Cooper says all the work farmers and biofuel groups did to weigh in with President Trump was the key in getting this plan announced.

Cooper also thanked members of Congress for their support in talking to the President about the reallocation issue. He’s especially grateful to Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst of Iowa for leading the efforts.
