Late last week, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt sent a letter to Seven Senators committing to final 2018 Renewable Fuel Standard volume obligations at levels equal or greater than what the agency proposed in July. Renewable Fuel Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen says that’s positive for the biofuels industry and American consumers.

He says while Pruitt’s response was positive it was somewhat unnecessary.

Dinneen says he believes the President influenced Pruitt on his decision to reverse the earlier proposal lowering the volumes. He says the Senators weighing in also helped.

Besides committing to higher volume levels, Pruitt also promised to finalize the rule by the November 30 statutory deadline.
