The Renewable Fuel Association is lauding the Senate Democrat’s Special Committee’s Climate plan. RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper says that plan recognizes the importance of renewable fuels particularly corn ethanol in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
He says the Senate Special Committee’s report goes well with an earlier report released by the House Select Committee on climate change.
The Senate report highlights the success of state LCFS programs like California’s. Cooper says corn ethanol has made a huge impact on California’s low carbon fuel standard.
Cooper says the LCFS model is spreading to other states and regions. And he says the Senate Special Committee’s report also endorses the value of carbon sequestration.
