United States exports of dry distillers grains are up 38 percent in May from a year ago according to U.S Census Bureau data. Renewable Fuel Association Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says the news is welcome and couldn’t come at a better time for the biofuels industry.
He says Turkey was the top buyer of U.S. DDGs in May accounting for 15-percent of the total. Cooper says they’d been a robust customer in the past and it’s good to see that market rebounding.
Cooper says South Korea, Mexico, Thailand and Vietnam all were solid purchasers of distillers grains from the U.S.
For the first five months of this year, DDG exports were slightly higher than a year ago.
