Oil refiners are seeking relief from the Biden Administration from biofuel mandates due to high RINS prices. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Geoff Cooper says every year Oil interests attack the RFS and ask for relief so this isn’t a surprise. He also doesn’t think they’ll be able to get what they’re seeking.

He says RFA will keep working with the EPA and Congress to keep the RFS operating properly and those who must follow it be held accountable.

Cooper says oil refiners had the opportunity to purchase RINS when they were less expensive so they’re argument they’re too high now doesn’t hold water.

RINS are the credits the EPA uses to enforce the Renewable Fuel Standard.
