Tuesday the Renewable Fuels Association released a new consumer choice report card that gives the five major oil companies failing grades on offering higher ethanol blends. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen says fewer than one percent of stations offer E 15 and E 85.
RFA Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says the big five major oil companies and several leading refiners are discouraging E 15 and E 85 sales, especially at stations carrying their brand name.
The full RFA study found that of the 48,000 big five branded retail gas stations, fewer than 300 or six tenths of one percent offer E 15 or E 85. Dinneen and Cooper say Big Oil cannot claim a shortage of fueling infrastructure to push EPA for lowering the RFS when it has created the shortage.
