South Dakota lawmakers were worried toward the end of the session that they may not find the dollars to fill out promises made at the beginning of the session.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says revenue projections at the end of the session made things tight…

Tax revenues for fiscal years 2015 and 2016 fell short by ten to fifteen million dollars.

One of the factors contributing to the tax shortfall is the inability of companies to attract the workers they need to expand. That was pointed out during the budget presentation by the Bureau of Finance and Management.

Hunhoff, a member of the Appropriations Committee, says they did try to move some dollars in that direction…

Hunhoff says they all know more has to be done to find the workers in the state…

The District 18 legislators held a wrap up session at the American Legion Auxiliary meeting last night.
