President Biden and European Leaders have reached an agreement to resolve the BOEING and AirBus dispute that ag officials hope may lead to a possible trade agreement down the road. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Director of National Affairs Jordan Dux says the hope going forward is that now they have this non-ag issue out of the way it’’ll stop hampering efforts to broker a trade pact.
He says although there may be areas of contention when it comes to an agriculture trade agreement between the U.S. and E.U., now the two sides have a chance to work together for a positive compromise based on sound science and allowing for market access.
Dux says it’s encouraging the Biden administration is starting to move forward on trade and hopefully this trade resolution this week will be a good template for future deals down the road.
The Boeing and Airbus trade dispute was one of those non ag issues keeping discussions from positive agriculture trade moving ahead.
