Yankton County Commission Moves Reserve Dollars To the Road Fund

The Yankton County Commission took action at their meeting last night to finalize the 2016 budget. Normally done before the first of October, commissioners waited until the outcome of last week special election. Voters defeated a proposed property tax hike that would have generated one point five million dollars a year for roads and bridges.

Commission Chairman Todd Wood says they voted to move one point five million dollars from the reserve to the road and bridge fund…

 

Woods says that extra road money will not go very far…

 

Woods says they talked about a number of options for county roads…

 

The commission also talked about more listening session to hear what the public wants done with county roads.
