A new study of seven U-S patients with the Ebola Virus is giving researchers a starting point to fight the disease.

Doctor Chris Kratochvil at the University of Nebraska Medical Center says those with severe cases had out-of-control immune responses that destroyed healthy tissues, while those with moderate cases did not.

They found different immune responses in those with severe and moderate cases.

Kratochvil says this is a small step in understanding the Ebola Virus.

Three of the seven patients were treated at U-N-M-C and four were at Emory University, which is also involved in the research
