Research Looks into Ways to stop Decline of Honeybee Populations

Research seeking a way to stop the decline of the honeybee populations in Iowa has led to more information on other types of bees that help pollinate the flowers and the trees.   Iowa State University researcher, Matthew O’Neal, says they know quite a bit about honeybees — which he says were brought into the United States — and are known for the community that creates honey.

O’Neal says they’ve learned a lot.

O’Neal and his I-S-U colleagues recently received a one million dollar grant to continue the study of prairie plants and how they can help fill a food gap for honeybees.
