Republicans Winning Senate Control Seeming Slimmer

The chances of republicans gaining control of the US Senate in the November elections is getting slimmer. Several political websites are now rating GOP chances as a little better than fifty fifty.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says Senate control depends on tight races in a number of states.

Despite not being on the ballot, Thune has a stake in potential republican control of the Senate.

Thune says no matter what happens on election day, Senators will return to Washington after the election for a lame duck session of Congress.

Members of Congress passed a short term federal funding bill that expires in early December.
