It’s likely Republican lawmakers will hire an outside attorney to get ready to sue Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, after he vetoed funding for the legislature’s day-to-day operating expenses. Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says “without a doubt, it’s a step toward seeking legal action”
Dayton wants to renegotiate several provisions in the tax cut bill he signed, and demands that Republicans allow illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses and that they undo just-passed changes to teacher licensing laws. The governor says he’s doing it to defend the integrity of Minnesota.
