Representative Expects Tax Measure To Pass Senate

The Senate is expected to pass the tax extenders legislation prior to the end of the lame duck session before the Holiday recess. South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem says the House earlier approved a one year extension and she expects the Senate to take it up either today or next week.
Noem says while negotiations on a longer version of the tax extenders legislation were going on President Obama scuttled it by threatening to veto the bill even before it was decided.
Noem says there are several parts of the extenders package important for agriculture, most notably the section 179 deduction as well as tax credits for biodiesel and wind energy.
