Center for Consumer Freedom officials have announced that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals killed over 1400 cats and dogs last year. Center’s Director of Research Will Coggin says that’s according to documents filed by PETA with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

He says over the past 19 years, PETA has killed 36,000 animals.

Coggin says PETA’s actions doesn’t match up with what they’re saying about caring for the well being of animals.

Coggin notes that in 2016, shelters in Virginia euthanized only 17 percent of animals in their care while PETA killed 72 percent of cats and dogs in its shelter. He says in some cases PETA went and took the animals and in some instances the animals were surrendered to them.
