Repeal of Estate Tax A Good Step for Tax Reform for Cattlemen

Last week’s passage in the House of the repeal of the Estate Tax is a good first step toward real overall tax reform. That’s according to Colin Woodall, Vice President of Government Affairs for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. He says that full repeal is a measure his group has been working on for a long time and that the vote shows increasing support for moving that over to the Senate and eventual approval.

Woodall says the repeal is not a tax cut for the wealthy but for those who really need it.

Woodall says they’re hoping to get enough votes in the Senate to not only pass the repeal but to be able to override the expected Presidential veto. He says they’re other option is to attach to a full and comprehensive tax relief bill for 2015 or 2016.
