Renewable Fuels Standard Still Under Fire

A bipartisan group of 36 Senators are urging the EPA to increase the proposed volumes set for biodiesel production under the Renewable Fuel Standard. National Biodiesel Board’s Director of Federal Affairs Anne Steckel appreciates the support and says it’s critical in getting the message to the EPA to make sure and set the proper levels.

Steckel says those levels need to be raised for the industry to have certainty moving forward.

The EPA’s proposed volumes for 2014 through 2017 are expected to become final by November 30. The public comment period on the current proposal closes July 27.
