Growth in the renewable fuels industry domestically and internationally was the focus of the program and discussions at the South Dakota Corn Growers Association Annual Meeting in Sioux Falls on Saturday. Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor told members the future for the renewable fuels industry looks bright as they expand E15 infrastructure through their Prime the Pump program.

She says their goal is to top 2,000 E15 pumps nationwide by the end of 2018, but they know it will take RVP parity to achieve that, which would allow E15 to be sold year-round.

Skor says ethanol exports also hit a record in 2017 and there’s tremendous growth potential in 2018 and beyond with countries like Mexico, Canada and Brazil all with an appetite for U.S. ethanol.

She says they’re also optimistic about export opportunities for U.S. ethanol in Japan and China with their recent announcement to move to E10.
