Taylor Reiss, a senior outside hitter from the Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball team, was named the Division II Honda Athlete of the Year and was presented the honor Monday in California.
The honor was voted on by national balloting among 1,000 NCAA member schools as part of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards program.
The CWSA, in its 43rd year, honors the nation’s top NCAA women athletes recognizing superior athletic skills, leadership, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service.
UCLA softball player Rachel Garcia has been named Division One Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.
Another finalist was basketball player Megan Gustafson of Iowa.
