The election of Republican Donald Trump as the nation’s new President is a positive one for agriculture. That’s according to South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal.

South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke says most people are dissatisfied by what’s been happening with the federal government and Trump was able to reach those voters with his message about how he wants to change government.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts says he’s anxious to work with the new President.

Trump defeated Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton with 276 electoral votes to 218.
